We are recruiting a motivated intern to support our Performance Excellence Delivery team, focusing on operational improvements across manufacturing and operations. You will provide hands-on support in data analytics and digital solutions, working closely with experienced professionals. Ideal for recent graduates or students in relevant fields with a passion for operational excellence.
Tasks
- Support project onboarding by identifying, extracting, and consolidating data from multiple global/local systems (e.g., Hermes, s-LIMS, Snowflake, SAP).
- Structure, clean, and validate raw datasets to establish reliable baselines.
- Perform data analysis to quantify key operational metrics such as lead times, cycle times, throughput, and sample/batch test volumes.
- Assist in mapping current-state operational and digital workflows through shopfloor observations and stakeholder interviews.
- Help analyze process workflow to uncover bottlenecks, waste, and performance gaps.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and scope practical digital and automation use cases that support identified impact levers.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and developer teams by translating user pain points and User Requirement Specifications into clear technical input for digital tools.
- Support the building and testing of lightweight digital solutions or practical digital mockups using low-code tools like AppSheets or agile solution building approaches.
- Provide hands-on assistance in rolling out new digital tools and dashboards to end-users.
- Assist in setting up and structuring data outputs and establishing connections between underlying data sources and digital tools.
- Support end-users with onboarding and training to ensure smooth adoption and long-term project success.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's or Master's program in Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Basic hands-on coding experience (e.g., Python or JavaScript).
- Comfortable using tools like VS Code and GitHub, alongside AI-assisted development (e.g., Claude Code) or low-code platforms (e.g., AppSheet) to rapidly prototype data visualizations, digital tools, and operational mockups.
- Passionate about learning Lean principles, process mapping, and operational problem-solving within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across functions and translating business pain points into actionable digital ideas.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build alignment and serve as an effective bridge between operational business teams and IT/digital functions.
- Fluent in English (German proficiency is an advantage).
- Willingness to travel in the DACH region.
