Join the HSE team at Hilti and help shape how environmental and chemical management is embedded across the global headquarters. This role combines strategic development with hands-on implementation, turning complex regulatory and technical requirements into practical concepts, driving measurable improvements, and building stakeholder support for effective implementation.
This full-time position is based at the global headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein, with limited travel aligned to project needs.
Tasks
- Lead the introduction and assessment of new chemicals through the defined approval process, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Own and continuously improve hazardous-substance data and processes in the chemical management system GeSi³ for Hilti Headquarters, including chemical safety instructions, labels, and related documentation.
- Develop robust environmental and chemical-safety concepts, including storage, warehouse, wastewater, firewater-retention, and emergency-response solutions, and drive their practical implementation with internal and external partners.
- Assess environmental, chemical, and exposure risks, define proportionate controls, and translate findings into clear standards, priorities, and improvement roadmaps.
- Create commitment for change by communicating the value of improvements, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and delivering effective training and awareness programs.
- Ensure environmentally compliant disposal of wastewater and chemicals, monitor key environmental indicators, and provide accurate reporting to the Office of Environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Sound professional experience and strong expertise in chemical and hazardous-substance management, including the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and turn them into workable concepts.
- Proven ability to develop environmental management strategically, while remaining hands-on and driving implementation through to measurable results.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly and build support for organizational improvements.
- Fluent German and English are required.
