Tasks
- Responsible for the operation of the center's electron microscopes and the sample preparation facilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic repairs of microscopy equipment
- Coordinate more complex repairs and servicing with instrument manufacturers and external service providers
- Introduction and training of users to the tools and methods
- Participation in scientific projects
- Provide electron-microscopy services to internal and external customers
Requirements
- Practical experience in the operation and maintenance of electron microscopes, as well as in related sample preparation methods
- Familiarity with small electro-mechanical devices
- Flair for details and perfectionism
- Eagerness to expand your horizon and to learn new characterization methods and applications thereof
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, in German desired
