The Senior Contract & Claims Manager at ABB Switzerland plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing contract management strategies within the Process Industries Division. This position is responsible for ensuring that contract management services are delivered in line with ABB’s policies, frameworks, and risk management practices, while fostering collaboration across business lines. The role requires a solution-oriented approach to contract and risk management, with a focus on maximising opportunities and mitigating risks. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between stakeholders, ensuring contractual interests are protected and commercial claims are enforced throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hybrid role based in Switzerland, reporting to the Head of Controlling and Contract Management.
Tasks
- Set out the strategy for contract management services within the assigned area, focusing on execution and alignment with ABB’s policies and procedures.
- Shape contract management strategies in consultation with business and other functions, considering risk, pricing, scope, and schedule.
- Analyse contract terms to identify, flag, and address potential opportunities and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Deliver high-quality enforcement and defence of ABB's contractual interests against customers and suppliers, including monitoring and assessing changes and deviations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to promote a solution-oriented approach and foster broader, common interests to achieve objectives.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Contract Management, or any related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in international contract management for systems delivery in industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in English and fluency in Spanish are required; knowledge of other languages such as German is a strong plus.
- A pragmatic, business-driven mindset with strong contract and risk management skills.
- Ability to act as a bridge with various stakeholders and achieve results through solution-oriented collaboration.
