As a Quality Specialist (f/m/d) at ABB in Switzerland, you will support the implementation of the local quality strategy and foster a strong quality culture within the supplier business. This position is integral to driving continuous improvement and sustainable problem-solving in the Electrification and Smart Buildings division.

Tasks

  • Qualify and approve new suppliers and conduct regular process, system, and product audits.
  • Shape quality requirements and lead First Article Inspections and qualification processes.
  • Track supplier performance using KPIs such as PPM and OTD, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver high-quality investigations of quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions through 8D/CAPA.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams to achieve world-class results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good knowledge of English and German, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits, including ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949 or similar standards.
  • Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis methods such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa.
  • Understanding of statistical quality methods, including SPC, MSA, and Gauge R&R.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, GD&T, and material or component specifications.
