As a Senior Project Engineer for DCS Simulation & Modelling at ABB Switzerland, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering advanced simulation environments and process modelling solutions for the power generation sector. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with customers, contribute to innovative solutions, and help drive improvements in the energy industry.
Tasks
- Take ownership of realising customer-tailored simulation solutions, meeting technical requirements, scope, and on-time delivery for medium to high complexity projects in the power generation market.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to shape and deliver solutions, seek feedback, and innovate with customers to drive improvements.
- Assist project managers in scope control, risk and opportunity assessments, and implement improvement and mitigation actions.
- Support technical solution development for new sales proposals, from concept through cost analysis and deliverables definition.
- Develop and review standard processes, tools, and techniques while ensuring engineering activities comply with regulations and contractual requirements.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or in a related technical field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the development and realisation of training/validation simulation environments, including process and thermodynamic modelling for combined cycle power plants or district heating networks.
- Solid knowledge of 3KeyMaster or a comparable simulation environment technology is essential.
- Sound knowledge of large-scale process automation DCS systems, specifically ABB 800xA or a comparable system.
- Broad knowledge of current engineering practices and codes and standards in the automation field is required.
- A focused, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach with strong written and spoken communication skills is necessary.
- Business fluency in German and English is required.
